YORK SPACE SYSTEMS ESTABLISHES SUCCESSFUL COMMUNICATIONS WITH BANE COMMERCIAL MISSION HOURS AFTER LAUNCH

PRNewswire / York Space Systems (York), the Denver-based aerospace company dedicated to the rapid deployment of complete space mission solutions, is reporting successful deployment and successful contact with its BANE spacecraft hours after launch. The satellite was launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base on December 1; York confirmed successful first contact -- on the first attempt -- within three hours following launch/deployment and all spacecraft systems are healthy and safe.

YORK SPACE SYSTEMS COMPLETES NEW FACILITY TO DOUBLE PRODUCTION CAPACITY

Construction is complete on York Space Systems’ fourth production facility, which will double York’s production capacity to more than 1,000 spacecraft per year. The new facility, nicknamed “Potomac,” is 60,000 square feet, and located near York’s headquarters in Denver, Colorado.

SDA DEMONSTRATES LINK 16 IN SPACE WITH YORK SPACE SYSTEMS

The Space Development Agency (SDA) has successfully demonstrated what it claims is the first-ever Link 16 demonstration in space. The demonstrations took place over the last two weeks with three Tranche 0 Transport Layer satellites provided by York Space Systems, demonstrating network entry through space to ground connection from Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) to a series of receivers using terrestrial radios.

WASHINGTON — The Space Development Agency has awarded York Space a $615 million contract for 62 satellites for DoD’s low Earth orbit constellation. These satellites are for the portion of SDA’s mesh network known as Transport Layer Tranche 2 Alpha, SDA’s director Derek Tournear said Oct. 19 at the MilSat Symposium in Mountain View, California.
