Flight Software Engineer

York Space Systems has an opening for a Flight Software Engineer interested in working in an exciting environment developing spacecraft through all segments of the life cycle. This position include the inspection, assembly, integration and operational checkout of flight hardware.

Location: Denver

Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science
• Five years of software engineering with 3 years of recent real-time embedded flight software experience
• Recent background in flight software development with specific recent experience in the following languages and operating systems: C/C++ (proficient), Linux, FreeRTOS
• Recent experience with inter-process communication (IPC) mechanisms
• Advanced knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and techniques in developing, modifying, debugging, releasing and maintaining real-time and embedded software systems for mission-critical aerospace applications.

Desired:
• Experience debugging software/hardware interactions and possible failure modes
• Space flight experience is strongly preferred
• Recent experience with device driver development and software/hardware interfaces for both custom and commercial hardware
• Familiarity with Python
• Familiarity with the CubeSat Space Protocol

Facility Security Officer (FSO)

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) manages, administers, and coordinates the DOD or other industrial security program and other security activities to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures.  The FSO will process and review personnel security clearances and maintain all security documentation, files, and clearance and suitability rosters in accordance with government requirements.

Responsibilities
• Administrate personnel security clearance processes.
• Follow DSS requirements.
• Provide Federal Agency or component personnel suitability processing support and coordination.
• Provide employee security briefings, exit interviews and debriefing, investigate and report security violations and incidents.
• FMaintain classified holdings in accordance with NISPOM.
• Manage “Document Inventory and Control Program”.
• Perform access control responsibilities.
• Managing the York COMSEC account in accordance with NSA/CSS Policy Manual 3-16 and the regulations of other U.S. Government sponsors.

Qualifications
• Must have DoD Top Security Clearance
• 3+ years of experience as AFSO or FSO.
• BS/BA Degree required.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in security field.
• Facility Security Officer (FSO) Certification.
• Knowledge of the government security and information assurance processes.
• Experience with protection requirements for handling and PII.
• Experience with JPAS, NISS, and e-QIP.
• Completion of FSO Program Management for Possessing (Preferred) Facilities or completion within twelve months from start date.
• Experience with the NISPOM, DAAPM, JSIG, ICD 503, STIGs, and associated NIST publications
• Experience with eMASS.

Lead GNC/ACS Engineer

We are seeking a GNC Engineer who will be supporting the design and creation of these aerospace technologies.

Responsibilities
• Analysis, algorithm development, simulation and modeling.
• Hardware-in-the-loop test.
• Requirement Verification and flow-down to GNC components.
• Mission operations and anomaly resolution using satellite telemetry.
• Design Review support.
• GNC hardware procurement support.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or a related technical field required. Master’s degree desired.
• 7+ years experience as a GNC Engineer
• Experience using MATLAB and Simulink
• Demonstrates self-initiated work in a team environment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
