Spacecraft Systems Engineer

York Space Systems has an opening for a Spacecraft Systems Engineer interested in working in an exciting environment developing spacecraft through all segments of the life cycle. This position will be responsible for working with Senior engineering leadership to design, develop, and deploy small spacecraft solutions working amongst an innovative and fast-paced engineering team. Responsibilities also include working to develop test procedures, managing databases, developing interfaces, and integrating and testing hardware.

It is desirable for the candidate to have experience with the following:
• Spacecraft subsystem general architecture knowledge
• Power and mass budgeting
• High order estimation of subsystem performance expectations
• Interface Control documentation
• Hardware Test Procedure Development
• Subsystem database tracking and responsibility
• Integration & Test
• Fault detection and recovery
The ideal candidate would have approximately 3 to 5 years or more spacecraft experience. Candidates should have at least a BS degree in an Engineering discipline or other directly applicable background from an accredited educational institution.

Lead DevOps Engineer

We’re seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to help us scale, secure, and automate our products and business tools. As part of a small but growing team, you’ll have the opportunity to make a big impact on the design and implementation of tools and infrastructure which help our customers securely operate real-world spacecraft. Our ideal candidate is someone with a breadth of experience in system administration and automation who likes to wear many hats. You’ll be responsible for suggesting best practices and implementing projects ranging from large-scale automation to one-off helpdesk support tasks. Projects may include containerizing services, automating code testing and deployment, intrusion detection, system monitoring and alerting, documenting government compliance, and more. Desired Experience: • Windows and Linux administration • Automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet • Monitoring and alerting systems • Cloud services, such as Azure or AWS • Docker • Scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell • Continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) systems • Active Directory Domain Services • SQL database administration such as MySQL or SQL Server • Knowledge of multi-factor authentication and modern security best practices • Intrusion detection tools Bonus qualifications: • Active DoD security clearance< • Experience with DoD compliance, e.g. ITAR, STIGs, DFARS This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.  You must be a U.S. citizen to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
